Russell Westbrook Will Win the MVP Award Once Again

First and foremost, Russell Westbrook is going to come out with a chip on his shoulder this season. He was not happy with the way the Thunder finished last season and is going to do everything in his power to take his team to the next level this year.

Last year, Westbrook ended up averaging 25.4 points per game to go along with 10.3 assists and 10.1 rebounds. Those numbers had him in the MVP race, but James Harden ended up winning the award.

Westbrook is going to come back with a very similar season. Those numbers are very attainable for him once again. Oklahoma City’s offense will revolve around him once again and he will be asked to take on an even bigger role with Anthony no longer taking as many attempts as he did.

Winning the MVP award isn’t the ultimate goal for Westbrook this season, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.
