Cleveland Cavaliers: 3 Goals for Kevin Love in 2018-19

Love Must Continue Shooting 40 Percent from Three

One of the major positives about Love’s offensive game since being traded to Cleveland has been his improving three-point shot. As we previously noted, Love shot 41.5 percent from behind the three-point line. That percentage was second only to the 41.7 percent three-point shooting rate that he posted during the 2010-11 season.

Love is going to have to deal with a lot more attention from opposing defenses this season. That means that he will have to work harder than ever to get open looks from beyond the arc.

If Love is able to continue shooting the deep ball at a 40 percent clip, the rest of his offensive game will open up. He has the ability to put the ball on the floor and can post up as well. Forcing defenses to have to guard him from deep will open up the paint for guards to penetrate.

Cleveland is going to have to get creative on the offensive side of the ball. Love will have to do the same.
