A Trade Could Add Pieces to Build Around KAT
Even though Butler is arguably one of the top two-way players when healthy the T-Wolves still need to trade him. If Towns is upset with his role on the team, management needs to address the issue. The former Kentucky product is only 22 years old.
A lot of Kentucky products that are drafted end up excelling due to the limitations of UK head coach John Calipari. Calipari runs a tight program and sets firm roles for each player. Think about DeMarcus Cousins, John Wall and Devin Booker are prime examples in addition to Towns.
Minnesota needs to build their roster around KAT. If it comes down to choosing between Towns and Butler the obvious decision is the 7-foot big man out of Kentucky. Last season Towns beat Butler in blocks and rebounds per game.
Butler did record more points, steals and assist per game. However, Towns is only 22 and will only get better as the years pass. KAT finished the season averaging 21.3 points, 1.4 blocks, 2.4 assists and 12.3 rebounds while shooting an impressive 41.2 percent from three.
With 31 points last night, @KarlTowns tied Tony Campbell for the 3rd most 30-point games in team history!

NBA teams are trying to stay afloat with the Golden State Warriors and their small ball style of play. With Towns on the roster, the T-Wolves can run a small ball lineup that features KAT at the five. Trading Butler would also, allow Minnesota to receive more bench depth and a veteran two guard that can buy into the third scoring option role.
