LeBron James and his son Bronny have yet to play together since the latter was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024 NBA draft.
LeBron is entering his 22nd season in the NBA and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, if not the greatest.
He has achieved virtually everything possible in the sport but one goal he has not yet accomplished is playing with his son Bronny.
That dream is now certain to come true as they are both part of JJ Reddick’s Lakers team for the 2024-25 season.
When LeBron James and son Bronny will play together
Bronny played for the Lakers in their first preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.
He was on the floor for 16 minutes, scoring two points from six shots. The 20-year-old also had one assist and one rebound in what was an underwhelming performance.
LeBron did not take part but he is expected to play against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night, according to the L.A. Daily News. The game tips off at 9.30 p.m. Eastern Time (ET).
There is no reason why Bronny would not be involved and that means history will be made at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California.
LeBron James and son Bronny will make history
LeBron and Bronny James will become the NBA’s first father-son duo to take part in an NBA game on Sunday evening against Phoenix.
It is also likely that they become the first father-son duo to be on the court at the same time – and on the same team.
LeBron will surely play most of his minutes with the starters and Bronny with the reserves but many are expecting JJ Reddick to hand the pair their special moment tonight.
Of course, it is only a preseason game, but we don’t know if Bronny will play much – if at all – in the upcoming regular season.
