The LA Lakers drafting Bronny James with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft was met with mixed reactions from fans.

Considering the eldest son of LeBron James had a forgettable freshman year with the USC Trojans, the backlash was expected when he was drafted to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Either way, Bronny will soon be playing his rookie season for the Purple and Gold. However, it doesn’t mean that he is destined to become a star by any means. In fact, the 19-year-old is tied for the worst rating among rookies in NBA 2K25.

Despite receiving a measly rating of 68, it doesn’t matter for his family. LeBron and Savannah James have supported their eldest son at every step of his career. So, it’s no surprise they are excited to explore Bronny’s in-game character in NBA 2K25.

Savannah James showcases Bronny’s poor 3-point shooting

For what it’s worth, James Jr. may surpass all expectations once he dons the iconic Purple and Gold jersey in his NBA career. Until then, fans are stuck with a low-rated version of Bronny in the popular video game series.

A video of Savannah James playing with her son’s character in NBA 2K25 recently went viral on Reddit. The clip showed how James Jr. lacks the stats to make 3-points effectively, even in a training scenario, let alone a game.

Ultimately, Savannah gave up on making a shot from deep. Instead, she drove the ball to the basket and slammed it hard. In a way, it shows that the 19-year-old’s biggest strength will be his inside scoring in the game.

Fans had mixed reactions to viral Bronny James NBA2K25 clip

Being the eldest son of one of the greatest basketball players, James Jr. has already navigated through criticism to reach the NBA. However, it goes without saying that Bronny will have more spotlight on himself than ever.

Keeping that in mind, the NBA community had fun after getting the hold of Savannah playing with Bronny in NBA 2K25. A plethora of fans flat-out roasted the Lakers rookie’s inability to make a 3-point shot in the video game.

Some fans were taken aback by the fact that the James family posted the clip from a yacht.

One wrote: “At first I thought wow that’s like a normal family TV to have for someone so rich. Then I realized its on their ______ multi-storey yacht.”

One fan applauded NBA 2K for being realistic.

All things considered, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Bronny becomes a punching bag for fans after even the slightest bad performance on the court or even in NBA 2K.

The only question remains whether the former Trojans guard can prove his doubters wrong or not. Well, we will find out the answer to it sooner rather than later.
