The Chicago Bulls are looking to retool after a couple of disappointing seasons, and due to them having a rather questionable roster heading into the 2024-25 NBA campaign, expectations aren’t high.

However, the Bulls could potentially make another move to bolster their squad.

Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz has listed three top potential trade targets for every team, and Chicago’s list was highlighted by New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram.

Ingram is entering the final year of his deal and is not expected to re-sign with the Pelicans, so there seems to be a solid chance that he gets dealt.

The problem is that he is apparently looking for a max contract, which could make landing a sizeable haul in return difficult for New Orleans.

But Swartz actually thinks the Bulls may be interested in Ingram because of his expiring deal.

“At 26, Ingram may still fit a rebuild in Chicago, or the Bulls could enjoy the cap space that his expiring $36 million deal would create,” Swartz wrote. “His addition would take some offensive pressure off of Coby White and Josh Giddey as well.”

How would Brandon Ingram fit with the Chicago Bulls?

The Bulls already have a couple of good scorers in Zach LaVine and Coby White, but they could use a third on the wing, and LaVine may end up getting traded, anyway.

Ingram is still young and has averaged over 20 points per game five years in a row. He logged 20.8 points per game on 49.2/35.5/80.1 shooting splits last season.

The Duke product is still young and has an All-Star appearance under his belt, so there is reason to believe that he can represent a very valuable addition to a young team looking to build a nucleus.
