Denver Nuggets Urged To Pursue Trade For This 5-Time All-Star

The Denver Nuggets could certainly use some depth, as they have lost key supplementary pieces in each of the last two NBA offseasons.

Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz put together a short list of players the Nuggets could target via trade, and perhaps the most interesting name was big man Kevin Love.

Love is certainly not the same All-Star-caliber player he was during his Minnesota Timberwolves and early Cleveland Cavaliers days. However, he remains a reliable floor spacer and could absolutely provide a boost for Denver in spot minutes.

The 35-year-old re-signed with the Miami Heat this summer after putting together a solid 2023-24 campaign in South Beach, averaging 8.8 points and 6.1 rebounds over 16.8 minutes per game on 44.0/34.4/78.7 shooting splits.

Love’s perimeter shooting has certainly dipped the last couple of seasons, as he shot just 33.4 percent from three-point range in 2022-23. But you have to at least respect him from beyond the arc.

Of course, Love is a disaster defensively, but again, it’s not like he would be playing starter minute for the Nuggets. After all, the veteran has not averaged 25 minutes per game since the 2019-20 campaign.

Denver absolutely needs some more pieces to fill out the rest of the roster, and while Love may be seen as a bit redundant with Dario Saric, his experience and offensive savvy could pay dividends for the Nuggets.

Can the Denver Nuggets rebound from their ugly playoff exit?

The Nuggets were last seen blowing a huge Game 7 lead to the Minnesota Timberwolves at home in the second round of the playoffs.

It was a rather surprising exit for Denver, especially after the team won the NBA championship the preceding season.

But with the Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City Thunder and even the Memphis Grizzlies all on the come up in the Western Conference, things aren’t about to get any easier for the Nuggets.

Nikola Jokic is a stud. We know this. But does he have enough supporting talent to make another NBA Finals run?

Jamal Murray is very good, but he has never even made an All-Star team and has become rather injury-prone. Michael Porter Jr. and Aaron Gordon are impressive complementary pieces, but they lack consistency.

NBA RUMORS & NEWS: Denver Nuggets Updates

The Nuggets will be relying an awful lot on Christian Braun to take a step forward next season, and they will also be depending on significant bench contributions from offseason addition Russell Westbrook.

We’ll see if the Denver Nuggets can re-assert themselves as the dominant team in the rugged West.
