With Klay Thompson out of the picture, the Golden State Warriors may face significant challenges in maintaining top-tier contention without another star player. While Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and other emerging NBA talents continue to carry the team, the Warriors might be hoping for a miracle addition to bolster their roster.
Rumors have surfaced suggesting that LeBron James could be that miracle. Sporting News writer Stephen Noh speculated on a possible team-up between two of the NBA’s greatest stars, Stephen Curry and LeBron James.
Teaming up for the U.S. national team at the Summer Olympics in Paris, this extended partnership between Curry and LeBron could be a big advantage overall. Lakers on the other hand could fall out big time loosing out the star. However, this stands to be just a mere rumor.
LeBron, Lakers mere hope
Entering his sixth season with the Lakers, LeBron’s career has seen significant growth. Since his draft in 2003 by the Cleveland Cavaliers the name LeBron James has achieved worldwide prominence and popularity for his dominance on-court.

After his acquisition by the Lakers in 2018, LeBron’s prominence took another level in terms of his performance as well his for his personality. Parting ways with Lakers was never a topic of discussion for the NBA star specifically at the age of his growing popularity. It was, however, some cryptic posts by him on his future relations in NBA which led to such trade rumors on social media.
“I’ve seen, heard a lot of reports about my future. I said it last night and I’ll say it again. I do not know yet as I’m only thinking about spending time with my family & friends! When I know after speaking with the fam, my counsel as well as my representation about it then you guys will know.”

Retaining the $51.4 million player option for the 2024-25 season, James probability to become a free agent this summer might be a positive input for the Warriors. The 39-year-old small and power forward is currently averaging with 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game. For now the Warriors have to wait and keep their eye set for the Lakers star to make a move.
