The Dallas Mavericks cruised to a commanding 132-96 win over the Sacramento Kings, extending their winning streak to five games during Tuesday’s NBA action. Luka Doncic led the charge with a dominant first-half performance, setting the tone for the Mavericks’ success.

“I thought just the plays for one another, on both ends, offensively and defensively, was at a high,” Dallas coach Jason Kidd said. … “We’re just trying to take what’s in front of us and play the game that’s in front of us, take the one possession that’s in front of us to get better.”

Kyrie Irving and Tim Hardaway Jr. provided substantial support, contributing to the Mavericks’ balanced attack that overwhelmed the Kings. P.J. Washington also played a crucial role, achieving a season-high in rebounds alongside his scoring efforts.

“We hit shots tonight,” Washington said. “We rebounded well. We played great defense for 48 minutes. So I’m happy.”

Despite efforts from De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, the Kings struggled against the Mavericks’ defense. Sabonis’ achievement of tying a franchise record for consecutive double-doubles highlighted his individual performance, yet it wasn’t enough to contend with Dallas’ firepower.

“(Fox and Sabonis) are All-Stars,” Kidd said. “We just tried to make it tough on them. It’s a group effort, everybody. It’s not just one person. I thought the guys executed the game plan.”

The Mavericks’ exceptional shooting, particularly from beyond the arc, played a pivotal role in their victory. Conversely, the Kings’ inability to match Dallas’ offensive output or defend effectively led to one of their most disappointing halves of the season, according to Fox.

“I think in the second half we played horrible,” Fox said. “I think it was probably one of our worst halves of the season.”
