In a nail-biting finish to Saturday’s NBA game, the Sacramento Kings narrowly defeated the Orlando Magic 109-107, halting Orlando’s impressive five-game win streak.

“We’re trying to prove ourselves, just like them,” Kings wing Keon Ellis said. “So when we’re out here we’re tying to earn each others’ respect.”

Ellis, shining with a career-high 19 points and crucial plays in the game’s final moments, was a standout.

“Keon was huge. He was freaking phenomenal,” Kings coach Mike Brown praised.

Domantas Sabonis achieved a significant milestone by tying for the longest double-double streak since the ABA-NBA merger.

“Obviously a big, big accomplishment by Domas,” Brown said. “But it’s like clockwork for him with the 14 rebounds and 21 points.”

Despite Malik Monk‘s shooting struggles, the Kings secured the win, highlighted by Jonathan Isaac‘s equal career-high 25 points for the Magic and Paolo Banchero‘s last-second effort to tie the game.

“That’s a tough game, man,” Anthony said. “It’s a really good team, well coached. They’ve got some good players, but we had a chance to win a game. You can’t ask for more than that in the NBA.”

During a pivotal 13-0 surge in the third quarter, Sabonis contributed five points, propelling the Kings to a 74-65 advantage, marking the game’s most significant lead for any team.

“Nineteen lead changes, tied 13 times. I mean, that’s the battle we’ve had with them,” Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said. “It was similar to the game there. … We’ll just have to keep looking at these films and how we can learn from these situations.”

The Kings demonstrated resilience and tactical superiority with strategic plays and a focus on minimizing turnovers despite shooting 43.7% from the floor.

“We won the possession game while defending,” Brown said, “and that’s why we got a road win in a tough environment versus a really good team.”
