There may not be a team in the NBA whose vibes are as immaculate as the ones the New York Knicks have been producing. Winning certainly helps, but the players on the team genuinely seem to like each other and get along, which is great for chemistry and cohesion.

A big reason for things turning around so quickly for the franchise has been the presence of the Nova Knicks. The process was started when the Knicks had point guard Ryan Arcidiacono on the roster.

He was college teammates with all of the current Nova Knicks on the roster. The biggest move came during free agency in 2022 when Jalen Brunson was signed. Later on that season, New York made a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers to bring in Josh Hart, another Villanova product.

The finishing touches were placed during the 2023 NBA Offseason when the Knicks signed Donte DiVincenzo in free agency. The Nova trio has been a driving force on the court for the team’s success, helping them navigate some tough terrain because of injuries.

Throughout the NBA season, we have gotten to see the other side of the Nova Knicks. On the court, they are as competitive as anyone, wanting to win and putting in work. Off the court, they are like any regular group of friends, poking fun at each other and having a good time.

The lead jokester seems to be Hart, who takes every opportunity he can to make fun of Brunson. Most recently, he took a shot at Brunson’s defensive abilities, hilariously poking fun at Brunson being near the top of the NBA in offensive fouls drawn this season.

Hart doesn’t take charges admittedly because of his ego. He doesn’t want the offensive player to have an edge on him. And he found time to crack a joke at Brunson’s expense, who has 28 on the season.

Knicks guard Josh Hart claims it hurts his ego. “I don’t take charges,” Hart said, “because I don’t want the offensive player to feel like he’s stronger than me.” When told his teammate, close friend and college teammate Jalen Brunson has drawn 28 this season, the second-most in the league, Hart said, “Well, if you get f—ing cooked one-on-one, you at least gotta do something.”” wrote Fred Katz of The Athletic.

Never change, Nova Knicks.
