In an era where individuals from various backgrounds, including reality TV and sports, transition into political roles, the idea of more people contemplating careers in politics isn’t all that surprising. In fact, it’s become somewhat expected. But have you ever entertained the notion of NBA and Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry stepping onto the political stage as president?

In a recent interview with Jericka Duncan on CBS Mornings, Curry discussed his latest children’s book, “I Am Extraordinary,” where the conversation took an unexpected turn toward his potential political aspirations.

Duncan posed the question many are curious about: Would Curry ever consider running for president?

“Maybe, I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can. So, if that’s the way to do it, then — I’m not going to say the presidency, but if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change, or if there’s another way outside of politics.”

While a political career would naturally follow his retirement from the NBA, it’s intriguing to witness inquiries about Curry’s future beyond the basketball court. So, what were Curry’s thoughts on the prospect of a presidential bid?

Considering Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s unwavering commitment to philanthropy, it’s not far-fetched to envision him as a politician dedicated to making a positive impact. In 2019, the couple launched the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, aimed at supporting youth with nutrition, physical activity, and literacy in Oakland, California. Their foundation has steadily grown, providing invaluable assistance to the local youth.

From his illustrious NBA career to his altruistic endeavors, Stephen Curry has consistently demonstrated his desire to effect change and uplift communities. Therefore, the notion of him exploring a political path, even potentially as president, aligns with his ethos of making a meaningful difference in the world.
