The dreams of NBA players vary. Some people want to make their families financially secure forever. Others have personal goals they wish to obtain and some just want to experience winning at the highest level.

The luckiest of NBA players get to experience all of that throughout their careers. One player who could fit into that description is Aaron Gordon of the Denver Nuggets. Gordon was an integral part of the team’s triumph in the NBA Finals last season over the Miami Heat.

He has made millions upon millions of dollars in NBA contracts and even more in endorsements. Gordon was the main attraction at NBA All-Star weekend in an unforgettable dunk contest years ago as well.

There is a lot that he has accomplished in his career, and at 28 years old, he still has time to accomplish even more. But, he has been able to check one thing off his bucket list, and that is playing alongside Nikola Jokic.

Following Thursday night’s victory over the Boston Celtics, Gordon revealed that one of his teams was playing alongside Jokic. Jokic is the perfect complement to Gordon in the frontcourt, the kind of teammate he has always dreamed about playing alongside.

“He’s the center that I’ve always, the player that I’ve always dreamed of playing with,” Gordon said of Jokic afterward. “He’s someone that sees the floor, someone that is super unselfish. And I think he likes just the fact that he can just throw it anywhere and I’ll go get it.”

The two have developed an impressive chemistry in their time together. Since being acquired in a deadline trade from the Orlando Magic in 2021, Gordon has taken his game to another level on both ends of the court.

Offensively, he has become extremely efficient, taking advantage of opponents giving so much attention to Jokic and developing chemistry for easy alley-oop dunks. Defensively, Gordon is one of the more versatile pieces in the league, capable of defending multiple positions.

This is a partnership the Nuggets would love to keep going for years to come. It certainly sounds like Gordon would be on board with that, as this is the perfect situation for him to be playing in.
