The festivities at NBA All-Star Saturday are always interesting, as it is a chance to get a glimpse of the 3-point shooting and dunking skills of various players while also seeing some of the game’s legends from the past make cameo appearances.

For many years, Turner Sports has televised both All-Star Saturday and the actual All-Star game, and its loquacious cast, which includes Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and host Ernie Johnson, always provides entertaining banter.

On Saturday in Indianapolis, Draymond Green and the Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown joined the “NBA on TNT” cast. Brown recalled playing Green’s Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Finals and said his team wasn’t ready but that it would be ready this time. Barkley, however, said that Green’s team won’t be there this time.

Green and Barkley will hold an alternate broadcast of Sunday’s All-Star game on truTV and Max. Green seems to be all over the place these days, as he has his own podcast and has been involved in three separate on-the-court incidents in the last 12 months that resulted in ejections and suspensions.

While Brown’s Celtics have the league’s best record, Golden State has been sputtering. Despite a recent five-game winning streak, it has a 27-26 record and is in 10th place in the Western Conference.

The team, which won it all over the Celtics in that 2022 championship series, is clearly a shell of its former self. Five-time All-Star Klay Thompson cannot shoot straight anymore, and 2022 All-Star starter Andrew Wiggins has seen his shooting efficiency drop precipitously this season.

On the other hand, there is some reason for hope when it comes to the Warriors. Overall, they have won eight of their last 10 games, and many feel if they keep up their improved play of late, they can be dangerous come playoff time.

However, a seventh Finals appearance in 10 seasons seems very unlikely for the NBA’s most recent dynasty.
