There isn’t much debate over who the greatest shooter in NBA history is. While some people may bring up a few different names, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry certainly claims the No. 1 spot on virtually everyone’s rankings.

Curry revolutionized the game with his long-range shooting, showing that you don’t need to be 6’7” with elite athleticism to dominate. He isn’t blowing by opponents for rim-rattling dunks, but it can be argued that his form of domination is even more demoralizing as slowing him down is very tough.

Curry is in range as soon as he steps on the court and teams have to put a lot of focus on slowing him down. But, as the Warriors’ last four opponents have learned, sometimes there isn’t anything you can do.

Several NBA shooting records are owned by Curry, but he found a new record to set in Golden State’s last game against the Los Angeles Clippers. It was another incredible shooting display, as he made 9-of-19 3-point attempts, scoring 41 points in a 130-125 loss.

That was the fourth consecutive game in which Curry has made at least seven 3-pointers in. Before Wednesday, that had never happened as Curry became the first player in NBA history to make at least seven 3-pointers in that many consecutive games.

What makes Curry’s shooting so impressive is that he is doing it efficiently on high volume. Curry has shot 36-of-67 in those four games, coming out to a scorching 53.7 percent. He has been shooting better from 3-point range, in game than some players shoot from the foul line.

His 3-point shooting display has also helped get the Warriors back on track. They have climbed back to the .500 mark, winning seven of their eight games before Wednesday’s loss. With Curry playing at an MVP level again, the Warriors are going to be a dangerous team down the stretch of the 2023-24 NBA regular season.
