The Phoenix Suns are set to play their final game ahead of the NBA All-Star Break on Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons. It is the second night of a back-to-back, as the Suns defeated the Sacramento Kings 130-125 on Tuesday night.

Unfortunately, the Suns are going to be without guard Bradley Beal for the game on Wednesday night. Beal injured his hamstring playing against the Kings on Tuesday and was announced out by head coach Frank Vogel during his post-game press conference.

Vogel called the injury a strain, but on an encouraging note, doesn’t believe that it is too serious of an injury. There is optimism Beal will be back in the lineup soon and won’t miss too much time after the NBA All-Star Break.

This is another tough break for Beal, who has missed a ton of games this season. Tonight will be his 25th missed game of the season; Tuesday was the second time Beal was injured less than five minutes into a game as well.

With Beal injured, Vogel leaned on Eric Gordon and one of the Suns’ deadline additions, Royce O’Neale, for significant minutes off the bench. Both responded well, as O’Neale scored nine points and was +13 in his 30 minutes of play. Gordon scored 23 points with three rebounds and three assists, recording a +8.

The hamstring is a new ailment for Beal to deal with, as he has suffered a laundry list of injuries thus far this season. He entered the 2023-24 NBA regular season with a back injury and suffered an ankle sprain on December 15th against the New York Knicks.

On January 21st, Beal suffered a broken nose playing against the Indiana Pacers. That injury didn’t cost him any time, as he was back on the court the next night against the Chicago Bulls and has been wearing a mask ever since.
