The Golden State Warriors, led by Draymond Green, secured a commanding 129-107 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night, extending their winning streak to five games and propelling themselves back above the .500 mark for the season.

Green showcased his versatility on the court, coming close to a triple-double performance with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Notably, he stunned spectators with a remarkable buzzer-beating 3-pointer from nearly halfcourt, reminiscent of his teammate Steph Curry’s iconic shooting prowess.

Reflecting on the team’s resurgence, Green acknowledged the Warriors’ return to form following a turbulent period earlier in the season. He got honest about how his suspension may have actually been a major positive for the team.

“Honestly, I think me getting suspended helped in a weird way. Because, number one, since I got suspended [Jonathan Kuminga] has taken off. And that has kind of set the stage for this team. Bona fide number two option on our team. And so, now you’ve got different things, you’re able to figure out different things you can go to, our offense doesn’t look the exact same like it used to look. We’ve got different things that we’re going to. You’re able to find different combinations that work. It’s just been kind of plug and play since then.”

His suspension for an altercation with Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic served as a pivotal moment, prompting introspection and perhaps serving as a catalyst for the team’s improved performance.

Despite the positive momentum, Draymond Green remains candid about the ramifications of his suspension, emphasizing that such incidents are detrimental to both himself and the team’s objectives.

Looking ahead, the Warriors are gearing up to face the Los Angeles Clippers at home on Wednesday night before embarking on a rematch against the Utah Jazz on Thursday, this time on the road.
