Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has accomplished quite a lot in the NBA career to this point. He is one of the most productive players currently in the league, putting up numbers we have rarely seen.

In Year 6 of his career, Doncic is a perennial All-Star and is in the MVP conversation every year. This season, he is once again accomplishing both, scoring a league-high 34.5 points per game while playing the most minutes in the NBA at 37.6.

Doncic is already on a Hall of Fame trajectory. In his career, he has scored 10,653 points with 3,220 rebounds and 3,056 assists. There is only one other player who has accomplished reaching those plateaus before turning 25 in NBA history; LeBron James.

As shared by Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report on X, James is the only player who has matched or exceeded Doncic’s number before his 25th birthday. Before he turned 25, James scored 13,927 points with 3,537 rebounds and 3,419 assists.

NBA NEWS & SCORES: Luka Doncic, LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks Updates

Doncic has accomplished something no one else in the history of the NBA has outside of James, as he still isn’t close to his level. The biggest difference was in the games played. Before turning 25, James appeared in 505 games. Doncic has 375 and will play only a handful of more times before his birthday.

To this point, Doncic and James have had similar career arcs. James was carrying a Cleveland Cavaliers franchise in the same fashion Doncic had been. In his age-24 season, James broke through for his first MVP award; will Doncic do the same in the 2023-24 NBA season, which is his age-24 campaign?

It will be interesting to see if another part of James’ career arc, leaving Cleveland to win a title, is something Doncic considered with Dallas in the near future. There are already rumblings that another disappointing postseason could lead to Doncic considering other options as early as the 2024 NBA offseason.
