The New York Knicks are one team that a lot of people are keeping an eye on with just a few hours remaining before the NBA Trade Deadline. They have already made one big trade this season but are active on the market and looking to make a new one.
Their deal with the Toronto Raptors, which netted OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn, has turned the team around. The Knicks have been a juggernaut in 2024 as one of the best teams in the NBA.
Alas, that trade did also open up some holes on the roster. Namely, the need for another shot-creator off the bench behind Jalen Brunson. That was a role Immanuel Quickley had been filling but he was included in the trade to Toronto.
That is their No. 1 goal heading into the deadline and the Knicks have been linked to several players as a result. Bruce Brown, Malcolm Brogdon, Jordan Clarkson, Alec Burks and Dejounte Murray are some of the names people are monitoring.

Depending on how big of a move New York makes, one player who could be involved is Quentin Grimes. It was reported earlier this week that the Knicks weren’t going to move him unless it was for a legitimate upgrade. Based on a recent update from Matt Moore of Action Network, that upgrade could be en route to New York soon as Grimes is reportedly close to being traded.
“The Knicks continue to be aggressive on the market after adding OG Anunoby and despite their unfortunate spate of injuries that have them without multiple starters. Two sources said this week the Knicks have started telling interested teams they are close to a deal involving disgruntled wing Quentin Grimes.”
The Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz, who have Murray and Clarkson on their rosters, are two teams who have reportedly shown interest in Grimes in the past. Could they be seeking him as compensation in trade talks again?
Grimes is currently dealing with a knee injury he suffered last week playing against the Jazz and has missed the last three games and counting. But, that hasn’t seemed to slow down the NBA rumors around him, as teams are interested in the 3-and-D specialist.
