According to NBA insider Kyle Neubeck of PHLY, the Philadelphia 76ers made trade inquiries about Portland Trail Blazers guard Malcolm Brogdon.

However, Brogdon appears to be staying with the Blazers.

“Add another name to the Philadelphia rumor mill — the Sixers made inquiries about Portland’s Malcolm Brogdon, sources told PHLY, in the hope of adding the versatile veteran guard to their rotation,” Neubeck wrote in his NBA column. “As of now, however, Brogdon appears to be staying in Portland, with the Blazers content to hold onto Brogdon unless they are bowled over with an offer.”

Brogdon is averaging 15.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks this season while shooting 44.0% from the field, 41.2% from beyond the arc and 81.9% from the free-throw line. He’s making $22.5 million.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Brogdon doesn’t want the Blazers to trade him. Stein is also reporting that Brogdon actually wants to sign an extension with Portland.

“There have been some recent rumblings that Brogdon, with one season left on his current contract after this one at $22.5 million, has been hopeful that the Blazers would entertain contract extension talks,” Stein wrote in his NBA article.

Brogdon will make $22.5 million next season. He becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2025.

During an interview with NBA reporter Jason Quick of The Athletic, Brogdon not only said that he wanted to stay with the Blazers, but the veteran guard also stated he wasn’t “valued” with the Boston Celtics. The Celtics traded Brogdon to the Blazers in the Jrue Holiday deal last summer.

“I’m happy here. I’m valued here. Valued in this leadership/lead-guard role,’’ Brogdon said. “And I can’t complain with that. I’m happy in Portland. … When I was first traded, I viewed it as an opportunity. I really did. You can ask people around me how my energy was in training camp. I was excited to be here.”

Even though the Blazers are in rebuild mode in the post-Damian Lillard era, the front office is not expected to trade Brogdon or Jerami Grant, sources told NBA Analysis Network.
