According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Chicago Bulls tried to trade Zach LaVine to the Atlanta Hawks for Dejounte Murray. They also tried to trade him to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green.
Both the Hawks and Rockets were not interested in acquiring LaVine, who decided to undergo season-ending surgery on his right foot.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls, Dejounte Murray, Atlanta Hawks, Jalen Green, Houston Rockets Updates
LaVine signed a five-year, $215 million contract with the Bulls in July 2022. He’ll make $43 million next season and $45 million in 2025-26.
Sources told NBA Analysis Network that LaVine wanted to get traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron James, Anthony Davis and LaVine have the same agent (Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group) and LaVine played college basketball at UCLA.
However, the Lakers were not that interested in acquiring LaVine due to the two-time All-Star’s massive contract and injury history. LaVine has undergone two knee surgeries and now he’ll have foot surgery.
The Detroit Pistons were interested in trading for LaVine before the Bulls announced that the guard would undergo season-ending surgery. A two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion, LaVine has career averages of 20.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bulls.
The Hawks are open to trading Murray, while the Rockets are open to moving Green. The NBA trade deadline is on February 8. It will be interesting to see if Murray and/or Green are moved. Murray, like LaVine, LeBron and Davis, is represented by Paul.
