The NBA trade deadline is right around the corner. Soon, it’s going to be over. We’ll see a flurry of movement, and then, before you know it, we won’t see a trade for some time.
When that happens, the league’s landscape becomes crystallized. Outside of injuries, no major changes will be made to a team’s roster. We’ll have an idea of where each team stands, and we’ll get to watch how the rest of the season unfolds.
Why not get ahead of the curve? Eventually, the 2023-24 season will be over. We’ll be heading into the offseason. Once that happens, some players may request trades. Here are three superstars we’d keep an eye on in that regard.
LeBron James
Recently, Rich Paul said that LeBron James hadn’t requested a trade yet from the Los Angeles Lakers. That doesn’t mean that he won’t request one this summer. If he does, he’ll break the internet in the process.
After all, James is one of the best players in NBA history. Meanwhile, he’s never been traded. Realistically, the recent rumors surrounding a James trade have been louder than any trade rumors we’ve ever heard about him.

If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve already been watching Donovan Mitchell as a looming trade candidate. He’s been the subject of trade rumors for years. In fact, we were talking about Mitchell trades when he was on the Utah Jazz.
After all, it’s been suggested that Mitchell wants to play in a bigger market. Sure, Cleveland is a bigger market than Salt Lake City. It’s still not a glamorous destination. If the Cleveland Cavaliers flame out in the playoffs, Mitchell could be on trade watch.

Luka Doncic has been in trade rumors before. Let’s be honest – until an NBA title is won, superstars always end up in trade rumors. When the Dallas Mavericks acquired Kyrie Irving, they quieted those rumors.
With that said, they haven’t looked like title contenders since landing Irving. The deadline is approaching – the Mavericks will likely be buyers. They may acquire a player or two that gets them in title contention.
