According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Minnesota Timberwolves will not trade All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns.

Towns has been heavily linked to the New York Knicks since Knicks president Leon Rose used to be Towns’ agent at CAA.

However, Towns isn’t up for grabs in Minnesota.

“Karl-Anthony Towns isn’t up for grabs in Minnesota, either, according to league personnel,” Fischer wrote.

The Timberwolves have the best record in the Western Conference at 34-14. Towns, who was named to his fourth All-Star team yesterday, is averaging 22.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks this season while shooting 52.2% from the field, 44.3% from beyond the arc and 87.2% from the free-throw line. He has 19 double-doubles.

Towns and Rudy Gobert have figured out how to play together, so the Timberwolves would be foolish to trade Towns, who is making $36 million this season. Minnesota signed KAT to a four-year, $221 million extension in July 2022. The Kentucky product scored a career-high 62 points on January 22 against the Charlotte Hornets.
