One NBA writer is proposing that the Orlando Magic acquire Malcolm Brogdon from the Portland Trail Blazers.
Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Magic and Blazers:
The Trade: The Orlando Magic acquire Malcolm Brogdon from the Portland Trail Blazers for Markelle Fultz and a protected 2025 first-round pick (via DEN)
The Blazers are looking for a first-round pick and salary filler for Brogdon. Meanwhile, the Magic are open to trading Fultz. This trade proposal Hughes created could make both Portland and Orlando happy.
Brogdon is averaging 15.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks this season while shooting 43.3% from the field, 41.4% from beyond the arc and 82.7% from the free-throw line. He’s making $22.5 million.
The Magic are 24-22 on the season. They are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Blazers, meanwhile, are 13-33. They have the second-worst record in the West.

Orlando could start Brogdon, Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. if the Magic’s front office acquired Brogdon from Portland.
Brogdon, 31, has career averages of 15.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks with the Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics and Blazers. The veteran won the 2016-17 Rookie of the Year Award with the Bucks and the 2022-23 Sixth Man of the Year Award with the Celtics.

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and Houston Rockets are interested in trading for Brogdon. It will be fascinating to see if the Magic enter the Brogdon trade sweepstakes.
