According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Chicago Bulls would need multiple first-round picks to even consider trading Alex Caruso.

The Bulls have told teams interested in trading for Caruso that they don’t want to part ways with the NBA champion.

“Chicago has indicated the Bulls would need multiple first-round picks to even consider parting with Caruso, according to league sources, if Chicago even truly considers moving him at all,” Fischer wrote.

Caruso is averaging 9.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.9 blocks this season while shooting 49.1% from the field, 42.0% from beyond the arc and 76.8% from the free-throw line. He’s making $9.5 million.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Alex Caruso, Chicago Bulls Updates

The Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks and Miami Heat are interested in trading for Caruso, sources told NBA Analysis Network. The Bulls, who are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings, have shut down all inquiries on Caruso.

One of the top defenders in the NBA, Caruso has career averages of 6.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.5 blocks with the Lakers and Bulls. He won the 2020 NBA championship with Los Angeles. Caruso, 29, signed a four-year, $37 million contract with Chicago in August 2021, a move members of the Lakers still have nightmares about.

Caruso has a plus-minus of +12 this season. The Bulls would be in the play-in tournament if the season ended today.

Chicago is trying to trade Zach LaVine, who is open to getting traded. However, LaVine doesn’t have a trade market due to his enormous contract. The two-time All-Star signed a five-year, $215 million deal with the Bulls in July 2022. LaVine, 28, is making $40 million this season.
