Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green will return from his suspension on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Green hasn’t played since December 12. He was suspended after striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the head.

Green is averaging 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.7 blocks this season while shooting 49.0% from the field, 42.9% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the free-throw line. The Warriors are 7-8 with the All-Star in the lineup.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors Updates

Green said on his podcast that NBA Commissioner Adam Silver talked him out of retirement. The four-time champion has been through two big incidents this season. He put Minnesota Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert in a headlock and struck Nurkic in the head.

“I told him, ‘Adam this is too much for me. … This is too much. It’s all becoming too much for me and I’m going to retire,’” Green said. “And Adam said, ‘You’re making a very rash decision and I won’t let you do that.’ We had a long, great conversation, very helpful to me. Very thankful to play in a league with a commissioner like Adam who’s more about helping you than hurting you, helping you than punishing you. He’s more about the players.”

Green signed a four-year, $100 million contract with the Warriors in July. The one-time Defensive Player of the Year started counseling after the NBA suspended him indefinitely following the Nurkic incident.
