One NBA writer is proposing that the Brooklyn Nets acquire Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls.
Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Nets and Bulls:
The Chicago Bulls trade Zach LaVine to the Brooklyn Nets for Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, Noah Clowney and two second-round picks (2026 and 2028)
The Bulls and LaVine are looking to part ways and Buckley believes LaVine can help the Nets, who are building around Mikal Bridges.
“The Nets are aiming to improve their roster around Mikal Bridges, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, and they need more perimeter scoring punch after reducing Cam Thomas’ role,” Buckley wrote in his NBA trade proposal. “A healthy LaVine could be the primary scoring option in Brooklyn, not to mention one of its top shot-creators and three-point threats.”

LaVine is averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 44.2% from the field, 33.1% from beyond the arc and 85.4% from the free-throw line. The two-time All-Star is making $40 million.
The Nets could start Dennis Smith Jr., LaVine, Bridges, Cameron Johnson and Nic Claxton if Brooklyn’s front office figured out a path to acquire LaVine from Chicago.
LaVine is a talented scorer and shooter. He scored a career-high 51 points against the Detroit Pistons in October. The Nets, who are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings, would certainly become more explosive offensively if they acquired LaVine.
