Pacers Announce Massive Tyrese Haliburton Injury Update

Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton underwent an MRI this morning and the results confirmed a left hamstring strain.

Haliburton will begin receiving treatment and updates will be provided as appropriate.

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting that Haliburton is expected to be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks.

Haliburton got hurt last night against the Boston Celtics. He had to be carried to the locker room by his teammates. It was a scary sight for Pacers fans, but Haliburton thankfully avoided a serious injury.

The Pacers beat the Celtics by a final score of 133-131. They are now 21-15 on the season, good for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

One of the best players in the NBA, Haliburton is averaging 23.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 12.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks this season while shooting 49.7% from the field, 40.3% from beyond the arc and 86.8% from the free-throw line. He has 26 double-doubles and one triple-double.

Haliburton is first in the NBA in total assists and first in assists per game. He has established himself as an elite point guard.

The Pacers, who are first in the NBA in points per game, won’t be as explosive as they have been with Haliburton out. Everyone on the team will have to step up.

Indiana acquired Haliburton from the Sacramento Kings in February 2022. Haliburton is averaging 20.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 10.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks with the Pacers. The Iowa State product signed a five-year, $205 million contract with Indiana in July.
