Tyler Herro led the Miami Heat with 21 points, and Duncan Robinson’s 13 points, including 11 in the final quarter, propelled the team to a 110-96 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers during Wednesday’s NBA action.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. contributed 16 points, and both Nikola Jovic and Bam Adebayo added 15 each, ensuring all eight Miami players who played scored in double figures. Kevin Love also had a strong performance, grabbing a season-high 14 rebounds and scoring 10 points.

The Heat maintained the lead for most of the game, but the Lakers narrowed the gap to 74-72 early in the fourth quarter, thanks to Christian Wood’s efforts. Miami responded decisively with a 10-2 run, featuring key 3-pointers from Robinson and Jaquez. Robinson’s shot, in particular, was a turning point for the Heat.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra praised Robinson’s ability to ignite the team, especially in the fourth quarter, where Miami effectively ran their offense through him and Adebayo. The Heat finally sealed their win and ended their two-game losing streak with a significant 15-6 run during a critical four-minute stretch in the fourth quarter.

“Duncan’s first-half 3s were more wide open than the one that he hit in front of their bench at the end of the clock. I think that’s where he’s dangerous. He’s ignitable. He sees one go, and I think that’s where it changed for him,” Spoelstra said. “We ended up basically running our offense through him and Bam on the catch and shoot off ball movements in the fourth quarter because of that.”

Despite shooting only 39.1% in the first three quarters, Miami improved dramatically in the fourth, hitting 14-24 shots, including 6-11 three-point attempts. Robinson reflected on his improved performance in the fourth quarter, acknowledging his earlier struggles but emphasizing the team’s overall strong finish.

“Tonight was a better late than never situation. I was pretty non-existent for three quarters but came around and kept on letting it fly,” Robinson said. “It was a good fourth. We had good activity on both ends and made it difficult for them to guard.”

The Lakers, struggling with their three-point shooting and committing numerous turnovers, were led by Anthony Davis, who scored 29 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Austin Reaves added 24 points, but LeBron James was only 12 points.

The Lakers, who have lost three consecutive games and have a 3-9 record since winning the NBA In-Season Tournament, face a critical period with most of their upcoming games in Los Angeles. Davis expressed concern about the team’s current trajectory and the urgent need to address their issues.

“It’s a little bit of everything right now and if we keep on this trend, it’s not going to be good for us.” Davis said. “It’s kind of obvious that we’ve got to figure it out sooner than later.”

The Heat played without Jimmy Butler, who missed his sixth game in seven due to a foot issue. It remains to be seen when he’ll return to the lineup as the team seeks to compete for positioning in the Eastern Conference standings.

Looking ahead, the Heat will conclude their five-game trip against the Phoenix Suns, while the Lakers host the Memphis Grizzlies, both games scheduled for Friday night.
