Los Angeles Clippers coach Tyronn Lue shared that center Mason Plumlee approached him with a team-first mindset this NBA season. Aware of the Clippers’ impressive run of winning 17 out of their last 22 games while he’s been sidelined while recovering from knee surgery to repair a sprained left MCL, Plumlee expressed his willingness to take a backseat to teammate Daniel Theis to maintain the team’s successful momentum.

Coach Lue acknowledged Plumlee’s availability but emphasized the importance of a cautious approach in integrating him into the team’s dynamic. This strategy is aimed at preserving the team’s current form while ensuring Plumlee’s effective re-entry into the lineup.

“He is available, but we still want to make sure we are doing the right thing and making sure that we’re taking the slow (road) and ease him back in,” Lue said.
