OG Anunoby Breaks Silence On Raptors Trading Him To Knicks

OG Anunoby met with the media today for the first time since getting traded to the New York Knicks by the Toronto Raptors.

Anunoby said he’s excited to play for the Knicks.

Anunoby can become an unrestricted free agent after this season if he declines his player option for the 2024-25 season. The NBA champion is expected to decline his player option for next season and enter the open market.

Anunoby is averaging 15.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks this season while shooting 48.9% from the field, 37.4% from beyond the arc and 71.7% from the free-throw line. The Indiana product is one of the best two-way players in the NBA.

Anunoby will wear No. 8 with the Knicks. The London native, who has career averages of 11.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.5 blocks, is making $18.6 million this season.

Along with Anunoby, the Knicks also acquired Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn from the Raptors.
