Clippers’ Paul George Receives Massive Praise From NBA Legend Carmelo Anthony

Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George received massive praise from NBA legend Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony said George is the type of player every young hooper looks up to.

Charlotte Hornets rookie Brandon Miller said George is his “GOAT.” Meanwhile, Anthony’s son, Kiyan, said George is one of his favorite players of all time.

George is a three-level scorer with incredible handles and shooting skills for a tall guy. He’s also a talented defender. The Clippers star isn’t the greatest player of all time, but his game is one of the smoothest ever.

For the Clippers this season, George is averaging 22.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.3 blocks while shooting 45.0% from the field, 39.9% from beyond the arc and 92.7% from the free-throw line.

An eight-time All-Star, George has played for the Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Clippers. He has career averages of 20.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.4 blocks.

George has made six All-NBA teams and four All-Defensive teams. The California native also won the 2012-13 Most Improved Player of the Year Award and the 2018-19 steals title.

George and Anthony were teammates on the Thunder in 2017-18. OKC won 48 games in the regular season but lost to the Utah Jazz in the first round of the 2018 playoffs in six games. George and Anthony went 45-30 together on the Thunder.

George can become an unrestricted free agent this summer if he declines his 2024-25 player option with the Clippers. Meanwhile, Anthony retired from the NBA in May 2023. He is one of the greatest players of all time.

Anthony averaged 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists during his stellar career with the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers. He made 10 All-Star teams and six All-NBA teams and won the 2012-13 scoring title.
