If you follow the NBA, you’ve got an opinion about Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors. If you reside in the Bay Area, you probably love him. Otherwise, you may feel differently.

After all, Green has made a habit of rustling feathers. Recently, he did it again. Now, Green is suspended indefinitely. Although Green claims it was unintentional, he punched Jusuf Nurkic in the face.

This is a bit of a “boy who cried wolf” situation. Fans around the NBA are tired of Green’s accidental violence.

Could the Warriors be tired of it as well? If so, could they send Green to the Sacramento Kings?

Golden State Warriors Receive: F Harrison Barnes, F/C Trey Lyles, 2026 First-Round Pick (Lottery Protected – SAC)

Sacramento Kings Receive: F/C Draymond Green

This is a difficult situation. Green’s antics have infuriated folks around the NBA for years. At the same time, Green doesn’t seem to care. Who could blame him?

We’re talking about a guy selected in the second round of the NBA draft. As we all know, Green far exceeded projections at his draft spot. Didn’t he use his grit and determination to get there?

Sure. Still, Green can’t be permitted to hurt people. It seems the league realizes this – again, he’s suspended indefinitely.

Should the Warriors wait for him to return, or should they move him?

Frankly, the Warriors have reasons to move Green that have nothing to do with his on-court antics. This team is getting prohibitively expensive. Here, they’re flipping his deal for two contracts that will be much easier to manage.

They’re also improving their floor spacing. Albeit, it’s coming at the cost of one of the best defenders in NBA history. Reuniting with Barnes should keep them relevant, but make no mistake – this is not a win-now trade for the Warriors.

Arguably, they’re ceding defeat here. The Warriors are having a difficult season – they’re giving up on their title hopes by making this move.

Given Green’s personality, age, and contract, a protected first should be fair value for him if the Warriors are going that route.

Should the Kings even give that much up for Green?

Green may have his warts. He can be problematic. We’ll say again – Green is one of the best defenders in the history of the NBA. It just so happens that the Kings could use a lot of help in that area.

After all, their defense is porous. Green can help. If anyone can cover for Domantas Sabonis’ lack of lateral mobility, it’s Green. Moreover, he should be able to contribute on offense as well.

Sure, he’s an unreliable floor spacer. Green remains one of the best passing frontcourt players in the NBA. He’ll make an already devastating Kings offense harder to predict. Green is good – no matter how you feel about him.
