Stephen Curry dazzled with a high-flying, game-sealing 3-pointer in overtime, helping the Golden State Warriors overcome the Boston Celtics in a thrilling 132-126 victory during Tuesday’s NBA action. His signature night-night celebration followed, much to the delight of his teammates.
Rookie Tracye Jackson-Davis made a significant impact, blocking Boston’s Jaylen Brown in overtime and achieving his first double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Curry, with 33 points for the night, nailed a crucial 3-pointer after receiving a skip pass from Chris Paul, who had grabbed an offensive rebound. This shot played a pivotal role in ending Boston’s five-game winning streak.
“It was a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow,” Davis said.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr expressed his lack of surprise at Curry’s magical shot-making ability, calling the moment “insane” yet expected. Jonathan Kuminga’s key steal and dunk gave the Warriors an edge in overtime, followed by a crucial rebound leading to another score. Boston, meanwhile, missed several crucial opportunities in the closing moments.
“Nothing shocks me with Steph, that shot was insane, the catch-and-shoot, the arc,” Kerr said. “But I fully expected it to go in, and I think all of our fans did, too. The guy’s magical. I can’t explain it. That’s just the kind of stuff he does.”

Klay Thompson’s 3-pointer tied the game with just over two minutes left in regulation, and though Derrick White responded for Boston, Curry’s equalizer forced the game into overtime. Brown led the Celtics with 28 points, and White added 30, marking only the second loss in their last ten games.
Jayson Tatum, who briefly left the game with an ankle issue, contributed 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. The Celtics were also without Kristaps Porzingis, resting due to a strained calf.
Thompson finished with 24 points, continuing his hot streak after a slump earlier in December. Kerr praised Thompson’s improved shot selection, which has positively impacted the team.
“He’s changed our team with his shot selection the last four or five games, whatever it’s been,” Kerr said.

Thompson also achieved a personal milestone, surpassing Vince Carter for eighth place on the NBA’s all-time list of 3-pointers made.
Curry’s performance was notable despite a foul-heavy game, with six 3-pointers contributing to his total. The Warriors missed rookie guard Brandin Podziemski in the second half due to a back strain. Chris Paul, despite dealing with fever and illness, managed nine points, 12 assists, and seven rebounds.
Looking ahead, the Celtics will face the Sacramento Kings in a back-to-back game, while the Warriors are set to host the Washington Wizards.
