One NBA writer is proposing that the Golden State Warriors acquire Buddy Hield from the Indiana Pacers.
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Warriors and Pacers:
The Deal: Draymond Green for Buddy Hield and Jalen Smith
Hield is one of the best shooters in NBA history, so he would fit in perfectly with the Warriors next to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
“For his career, Hield has averaged 3.1 threes per game while shooting 40.2 percent from deep,” Bailey wrote in his NBA trade proposal. “Curry and Klay Thompson are the only players in NBA history who match or exceed both marks. Lineups with all three on the floor would surely get torched defensively, but they’d also have the ability to rain their own fire down on the other end. If the Warriors are going to move Draymond, leaning into an offense-first philosophy probably makes some sense.”

The Warriors could start Curry, Thompson, Hield, Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney if Golden State’s front office figured out a way to acquire Hield from Indiana. Hield is open to getting traded by the Pacers since the franchise didn’t offer him a contract extension.
The 31-year-old Hield is averaging 12.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists this season while shooting 44.2% from the field, 37.6% from beyond the arc and 80.0% from the free-throw line. The Oklahoma product is 21st in the NBA in 3-point field goals.

Hield is making $18.6 million this season. He becomes an unrestricted free agent after this campaign ends. The guard has career averages of 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists with the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings and Pacers.
