One NBA writer is proposing that the Indiana Pacers acquire Draymond Green from the Golden State Warriors.
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Pacers and Warriors:
The Deal: Draymond Green for Buddy Hield and Jalen Smith
Green has been suspended by the NBA indefinitely after striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face. The Warriors star was suspended five games earlier in the season for putting Minnesota Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert in a headlock.
Bailey believes Green can help the Pacers on defense.
“The Pacers are surrendering 125.5 points per game, which is the fourth most all time (the 2023-24 Washington Wizards are one of the teams giving up more),” Bailey wrote in his NBA trade proposal. “And while Green wouldn’t be enough to singlehandedly fix the issues leading to that mark, he could at least drag them closer to the top of this season’s bottom 10 defenses.”

Green is averaging 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.7 blocks this season while shooting 49.0% from the field, 42.9% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the free-throw line.
The Pacers could start Tyrese Haliburton, Bruce Brown, Obi Toppin, Green and Myles Turner if Indiana’s front office figured out a way to acquire Green from Golden State. Some people around the NBA believe the Warriors could trade Green before the trade deadline since he continues to get in trouble with the league office.
