NBA reporter Eric Koreen, who covers the Toronto Raptors for The Athletic, said he’s “sure” the Miami Heat will kick the tires on a Pascal Siakam trade.
The Raptors are expected to trade Siakam this season since the All-Star is in the final year of his deal and the team is building around Scottie Barnes.
“Siakam has played commendable basketball this season in a context that is not designed for him to thrive,” Koreen wrote in his NBA trade piece. “Even though his individual numbers are not as good as Barnes’, he still drives winning as much as or more than his younger teammate. I’m sure Miami will kick the tires, even if it’s not the cleanest fit.”

Siakam is averaging 20.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists on the season while shooting 49.7% from the field, 21.2% from beyond the arc and 75.0% from the free-throw line. The NBA champion is making $37.9 million.
Siakam has career NBA averages of 17.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists with the Raptors. He won the 2018-19 Most Improved Player of the Year Award and helped Toronto win the 2019 title over the Golden State Warriors in six games.
The Raptors are just 9-14 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. All signs point toward Siakam getting traded. Now, we just have to see where the swingman will land.

The Heat would have a “Big 3” of Siakam, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo if Miami’s front office figured out a path to acquire Siakam from Toronto.
