Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James received strong praise from Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle.

Carlisle said LeBron, who is the oldest player in the NBA, is still in his “prime.”

LeBron is 38 and is in his 21st season in the NBA. You would think he would be a regular player now given his age and all the miles on his body.

However, LeBron is far from a regular player. He’s still one of the top players in the league. The King is averaging 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists while shooting 55.3% from the field, 40.7% from beyond the arc and 71.7% from the free-throw line.

In the Lakers’ win against the New Orleans Pelicans on December 7, LeBron put up 30 points, five rebounds and eight assists in 22 minutes. The four-time MVP and four-time Finals MVP shot 9-of-12 from the floor, 4-of-4 from 3 and 8-of-8 from the foul line.

LeBron thought about retiring last offseason after the Lakers got swept by the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 Western Conference Finals. However, the future Hall of Famer knew he could still play at a high level.

“If you decide to retire, or whatever the case may be, you’re not a part of it anymore, so it wouldn’t be me leaving it on the table because I would have never had the table set,” James told ESPN. “But I’m happy that I’m here. This is a pretty cool moment, and let’s see if we can capitalize on it. It’s been good. It’s been dope.”

LeBron is arguably the best player in NBA history. He’s the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and the only player to rank top-five all-time in both points and assists. Now, the Akron native will look to become the first legend to win the NBA Cup.
