One NBA writer is proposing that the Toronto Raptors acquire Andrew Wiggins from the Golden State Warriors.
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Raptors, Warriors and New York Knicks:
Warriors Receive: Pascal Siakam and Isaiah Hartenstein
Raptors Receive: Andrew Wiggins, Evan Fournier, Jonathan Kuminga, Quentin Grimes, a 2024 first-round pick from New York, a 2028 first-round pick from New York and a 2028 first-round pick from Golden State
Knicks Receive: OG Anunoby, Moses Moody, Gary Payton II
Wiggins, who was born and raised in Toronto, is averaging 12.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists for the Warriors this season while shooting 42.3% from the field, 26.2% from beyond the arc and 61.4% from the free-throw line.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Andrew Wiggins, Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors Updates
Kuminga is averaging 11.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists for the Warriors while shooting 46.8% from the field, 25.0% from beyond the arc and 68.1% from the free-throw line.
Grimes is averaging 5.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists for the Knicks while shooting 35.9% from the field, 34.5% from beyond the arc and 66.7% from the free-throw line.
Finally, Fournier is averaging 2.0 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists for the Knicks while shooting 16.7% from the field. He is not in the playing rotation.
Bailey believes the Raptors need to rebuild around Scottie Barnes and part ways with Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby. Putting Wiggins, Kuminga, Grimes and Fournier next to Barnes would give the Raptors more scoring and shooting.
“The Toronto native Wiggins is only 28 years old. A bounceback is far from out of the question, and his inclusion in the deal helps the Raptors preserve a little of the positional interchangeability it has with Siakam and Anunoby,” Bailey wrote. “Grimes and Fournier, meanwhile, should help on the shooting front, and the former still has plenty of untapped potential. He’s only 23 years old and has shown the ability to defend various player types.”

The Raptors are 9-12 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. This trade idea gives Toronto Wiggins, Grimes, Fournier, Kuminga and multiple draft picks.
