One NBA writer is proposing that the Memphis Grizzlies acquire Andre Drummond from the Chicago Bulls.

Dan Favale of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Grizzlies and Bulls:

Memphis Grizzlies Receive: Andre Drummond

Chicago Bulls Receive: John Konchar, 2026 second-round pick (via Boston, Indiana, L.A. Clippers or Miami), 2030 second-round pick

The Grizzlies have the second-worst record in the Western Conference. However, superstar point guard Ja Morant will return from his suspension soon and Favale believes Drummond can help Memphis on the boards.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Andre Drummond, Chicago Bulls, Memphis Grizzlies Updates

“Plugging the Steven Adams-sized hole up front without depleting the team’s asset stores is the way to go for now. Drummond does that in ways Bismack Biyombo and Xavier Tillman Sr. do not,” Favale wrote. “He brings more size and heft, much to the delight of Jaren Jackson Jr.’s defensive workload, and is an offensive-rebounding dynamo.”

Drummond is averaging 5.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.3 blocks for the Bulls this season while shooting 52.7% from the field and 59.1% from the free-throw line. He’s one of the best rebounders in the NBA.

“Drummond is boarding over 20 percent of Chicago’s misses at the moment—a career-high,” Favale wrote. “The Grizzlies will have to stomach more freelancing in the post and hair-pulling decisions from him than they do with Adams or any other big on the roster, but he’s worth the trouble relative to current alternatives.”

The Grizzlies are currently starting Derrick Rose, David Roddy, Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Bismack Biyombo since Morant and Marcus Smart are out. Memphis could replace Biyombo with Drummond in the starting lineup.

A two-time All-Star, Drummond has career averages of 13.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.4 blocks with the Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets and Bulls.
