The Los Angeles Clippers are 6-8 with James Harden in the lineup. They are currently starting Harden, Terance Mann, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac. Russell Westbrook requested to come off the bench since having four-ball dominant guys in the starting lineup wasn’t working.
PJ Tucker, who was part of the Harden trade, shared an eye-popping comment to Sam Amick of The Athletic about the Clippers’ offensive dynamic. Leonard, George, Harden and Westbrook are four of the best players in NBA history, but it’s been difficult for all four players to play together.
“There’s not enough basketballs on the planet for this team, really,” Tucker said.
Harden is averaging 15.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists with the Clippers while shooting 46.2% from the field, 40.0% from beyond the arc and 85.2% from the free-throw line. The 10-time All-Star told Amick that it’s still too early to tell what the Clippers have with him, Leonard, George and Westbrook.

“It’s hard to tell overall, but I think this is just a really good situation for me in the sense of having an opportunity to win, being around family and just having an opportunity to still chase my goals and things that I want to accomplish basketball-wise,” Harden said. “We show really good signs, and then we have (lapses) where it’s like, ‘Damn, we should’ve won if this would’ve happened.’ But we’ve got a whole season of this. Obviously, we want to win games while we’re going through figuring it out, but we’ll see what this team looks like going into the postseason. That’s the most important thing.”

The Clippers are 9-10 on the season. They are in ninth place in the Western Conference standings.
Harden becomes an unrestricted free agent next offseason and Leonard and George can become free agents as well if they decline their 2024-25 player options.
