Porzingis hasn’t played since November 24 due to a left calf injury.

The Celtics face the New York Knicks on December 8. Porzingis, who began his career with the Knicks, is averaging 18.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.7 blocks this season while shooting 54.7% from the field, 32.4% from beyond the arc and 80.0% from the free-throw line.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Kristaps Porzingis, Boston Celtics Updates

The Celtics are 11-4 when Porzingis plays and 15-5 overall on the season. They have already beaten the Knicks twice.

Porzingis and Celtics small forward Jaylen Brown have developed excellent chemistry on the court. The two stars have connected on multiple alley-oops this season and that trend will likely continue.

“I absolutely love playing with JB,” Porzingis said. “I think we’re starting to connect more and more and it’s becoming just natural for us. If he comes off and he wants the handoff, boom, I hand it to him. I start rolling, he kind of plays that game a little bit, and he either finishes or throws the lob and he’s making it easy for me. I’m learning his game, I’m learning the situations he likes to be in, and as you could see, we’re having some success with it. It’s really fun to play with him and I look forward to more of those plays.”

The Celtics lost to the Indiana Pacers in the In-Season Tournament quarterfinals, so they won’t be going to Las Vegas. Boston lost to Indiana by a final score of 122-112 without Porzingis.
