Brooklyn Nets swingman Dorian Finney-Smith has previously drawn interest from the Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
The Nets acquired Finney-Smith from the Mavericks last season in the Kyrie Irving trade.
“Given that Finney-Smith is signed through the 2024-25 season before a $15.38 million player option decision for the 2025-26 season, rival executives expect the Nets to continue to have a high asking price worth the equivalent of two first-round picks if they trade him with the hope that the asking price will drop closer to the trade deadline,” Scotto wrote.

Finney-Smith is averaging 10.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists this season for the Nets while shooting 45.4% from the field, 44.1% from beyond the arc and 33.3% from the free-throw line.
The 30-year-old Finney-Smith has career averages of 8.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists with the Mavericks and Nets. He’s making $13.4 million this season and will make $14.4 million in 2024-25.
The Nets are 9-8 on the season. They got swept by the Sixers in the first round of the 2023 playoffs. If Brooklyn doesn’t have a winning record near the trade deadline in February, Finney-Smith could be traded to a contender.
