Draymond Green has acted out many times with the Golden State Warriors. From getting suspended in the 2016 Finals to punching Jordan Poole last season, Green has had his fair share of bad moments.

This season has been no different for Green. He put Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a headlock and was suspended by the NBA for five games. The Warriors still appreciate Green and value him as a player, but according to Kendra Andrews of ESPN, once Green is no longer an effective player, that tolerance could run out.

“A league source told ESPN that the Warriors will back Green no matter what he does, while another team source told ESPN the Warriors lost leverage on disciplining him after failing to hold him accountable for punching Poole,” Andrews wrote. “Green apologized to his team for the Gobert incident, sources said, and everyone was receptive to the apology. … But once Green is no longer an effective player, a team source said, that tolerance could run out.”

In his first public comments since putting Gobert in a headlock, Green said he had no regrets about what he did. That’s part of the issue with Green. He never seems to take responsibility for his actions.

“I don’t live my life with regrets,” Green said. “I’ll come to a teammate’s defense any time that I’m in a position to come to a teammate’s defense. … What matters to me is how the people that I care about feel, first and foremost. How are the people that I care about affected? How are the people I care about, what do they have to deal with? That’s it for me.”
