One NBA writer is proposing that the Sacramento Kings acquire Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets.
Fran Leiva of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Kings and Nets:
Sacramento Kings receive: Mikal Bridges
Brooklyn Nets receive: Harrison Barnes, Keegan Murray, 2026 first-round pick
The Kings could start De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, Malik Monk, Bridges and Domantas Sabonis if Sacramento’s front office figured out a path to acquire Bridges from Brooklyn. Bridges is one of the best two-way players in the NBA.

The 27-year-old Bridges is averaging 21.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals this season while shooting 47.4% from the field, 34.7% from beyond the arc and 85.7% from the free-throw line.
“The trio of Bridges, Fox, and Sabonis could form a formidable core, providing the Kings with a diverse and potent small-ball lineup,” Leiva wrote. “Additionally, Bridges brings a crucial defensive element, offering the Kings a much-needed boost in perimeter defense.”
Bridges signed a four-year, $90 million contract with the Phoenix Suns in October 2021. He’s making $21.7 million this season. The swingman has career averages of 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists with the Suns and Nets.

The Kings made the playoffs last season for the first time since 2006. They lost to the Golden State Warriors in the first round in seven games. Adding Bridges next to Fox and Sabonis could be the final move Sacramento’s front office needs to make for the franchise to become a legitimate title contender.
