Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards Takes Major Shot At Grizzlies Crowd

After the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Memphis Grizzlies, Anthony Edwards said the FedExForum crowd was “dead.”

The Grizzlies are 3-13 on the season and 0-8 at home.

“The fans was dead,” Edwards said. “I’ve never played in Memphis like this. This is my first time being in Memphis and not having the crowd into the game. So it’s kind of hard to get into it.”

The Grizzlies are still playing without Ja Morant, who is serving a 25-game suspension. Without Morant, Memphis has struggled mightily to begin the season.

“They usually be amped up,” Edwards said. “I’m guessing because Ja out probably.”

The Grizzlies had the second-best record in the Western Conference last season. Morant averaged 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 8.1 assists and Jaren Jackson Jr. won the Defensive Player of the Year Award.

The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Grizzlies in the first round of the 2023 playoffs in six games. Morant then flashed a gun on an IG Live video for a second time and was suspended by the NBA for the first 25 games of this season.

The Grizzlies have the second-worst record in the Western Conference. They will have to go on a major winning streak once Morant returns to be a playoff team.

As for the Timberwolves, they are off to a stellar start this season. They have the best record in the Western Conference at 12-4 and Edwards is playing like an MVP.

In 34 minutes against the Grizzlies, Edwards put up 24 points, five rebounds and seven assists. The Timberwolves won by a final score of 119-97. They never trailed in the game.
