Report: Major New Injury Update For Nuggets’ Jamal Murray Released

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray is close to playing again. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Murray could return to the lineup on November 29 versus the Houston Rockets.

Murray has been out because of a right hamstring strain. He hasn’t played since November 4 against the Chicago Bulls. The Nuggets are 11-6 on the season but just 5-5 since Murray got hurt.

Murray has appeared in seven games this season. He’s averaging 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 43.3% from the field, 43.8% from beyond the arc and 84.2% from the free-throw line.

If Murray makes one of the three All-NBA teams this season, he will be eligible for a supermax extension with the Nuggets next offseason. The talented guard averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists last season.

Murray was incredible for the Nuggets in the 2023 playoffs. He averaged 26.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 7.1 assists in 20 games versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat. The Kentucky product put up 21.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 10.0 assists per game in the NBA Finals.

The Nuggets beat the Heat in the 2023 Finals in five games. It will be fascinating to see if they can repeat as champions this season. The team clearly needs Murray next to Nikola Jokic to become back-to-back champions.
