Giannis Antetokounmpo Speaks Out On Bucks Beating Blazers After Being Down 26 Points

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Portland Trail Blazers on November 26 despite being down by 26 points at one point. Giannis Antetokounmpo, who finished with 33 points, 16 rebounds and six assists in 39 minutes, was “proud” of the way he and his teammates battled back.

“I’m extremely proud that, no matter if we face adversity, we always have a chance to come back and win the game,” Antetokounmpo said. “That’s a good habit that we’re building now.”

The Bucks beat the Blazers by a final score of 108-102. Milwaukee outscored Portland 33-14 in the fourth quarter.

“Sometimes, we just make it tough on ourselves,” Antetokounmpo said. “Don’t get me wrong, I think Portland is a very good team, a young team that plays hard, great defenders, play the right way, but we just make it tough.”

The Bucks improved to 12-5 on the season after beating the Blazers. Antetokounmpo is averaging 29.9 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks in 16 games while shooting 59.4% from the field, 22.6% from beyond the arc and 63.3% from the free-throw line.

“We could start the game like (we ended it). We should not be down 26 and then try to win the game,” Antetokounmpo said. “That takes a toll on your body, but I’m happy that we were able to win.”

The Bucks are now 11-3 when Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard play together. The two superstars are averaging a combined 55.5 points per game.
