Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson played in the NFL and MLB. No one has ever played in the NFL and NBA. It will be interesting to see if Edwards is able to make sports history one day.

The Timberwolves, led by Edwards, are off to a strong start this season. They have the best record in the Western Conference at 11-3 and Edwards is playing like an MVP.

“We ain’t coming out here to play around,” Edwards said. “Let’s come out here, 48 minutes, play hard — hard as we can — and do what the coaches say. And if we come up short, we come up short. But I think we’ve been doing pretty good.”

Added Timberwolves big man Naz Reid: “Everybody’s here to win. Everybody has one goal. Everybody’s got their money situation out of the way. Now we’re here to play basketball and win the game. We’re not really too much worried about anything other than that.”

The 22-year-old Edwards is averaging 26.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists on the season while shooting 46.7% from the field, 38.9% from beyond the arc and 84.7% from the free-throw line. He has firmly established himself as one of the best players in the NBA.
