The Miami Heat are not currently pursuing a trade for Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine, according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald.

LaVine and the Bulls are open to parting ways and the Heat are one of the teams LaVine would like to land with.

However, the Heat are not interested in trading Tyler Herro to acquire LaVine, who signed a five-year, $215.2 million contract with the Bulls in July 2022.

“Another big-time scorer, Chicago’s Zach LaVine, is available on the trade market,” Jackson wrote. “But a person in close contact with the Heat front office said Miami has not been pursuing a trade for him, at least as of now. (I would be surprised if that changes.) And that’s a sensible decision, because of several reasons including future flexibility, finances and duplication with Tyler Herro’s skill set. (The Heat isn’t interested in trading Herro for LaVine.)”

LaVine, 28, has career averages of 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bulls. He can’t control where he gets traded since he doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.

“That’s why I have representatives like Rich Paul. If he speaks on my behalf, that’s my agent. That’s who I obviously have my camp with. They talk to Artūras (Karnišovas) and them,” LaVine said while addressing the trade rumors with Bulls reporters. “My job is to go out here and play. Simple as that.”
